A new story for subscribers to my Substack newsletter has just been published.
A spinoff of my “Sheriff Ryan Caldwell” stories, “Eastbound, Down, and Dirty,” tells the tale of Bill Herman, a deputy sheriff in the Hard Rock Sheriff’s Department, who learns that his wife is cheating on him.
Bill has other problems, however. He just learned that he is dying from an inoperable brain tumor. As much as he wants to divorce his cheating wife, he realizes that he probably wouldn’t survive the divorce. And he doesn’t want to be in the position of having his cheating wife and her lover gloat over him as he lies on his deathbed.
