But he has other issues, like a drug-addicted mentally unstable Admiral who also has an axe to grind with Bill, a starship upgraded with barely tested alien technology, and the off-chance of starting Earth’s first interstellar war.

This is a well written, funny, passionate space opera. Shades of Star Trek, John Wayne, Civil Ware era heroes, all wrapped up in a great read. This author is one of my favorites, because as awful a predicament there may very well be, justice is dished out. I’m hopeful that was see Admiral Jones in another story, someday. He’s a great character, all of the people and the world’s he builds are a delight.
